The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a freeze
warning... which is in effect from 2 am to 8 am CST Thursday.
A cold autumn night is expected across northeastern Missouri and west
central Illinois this evening with temperatures expected to drop
below freezing in the early morning hours.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A freeze warning is issued when sub-freezing temperatures are
forecast to threaten outdoor plants. Those with agricultural
interests in the warned area are advised to protect tender
vegetation. Also... potted plants normally left outdoors should be
covered or brought inside away from the cold.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Louisiana
* until Saturday morning... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Wednesday the stage was 16.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
late Friday morning.

the Mississippi River at Saverton lock and dam 22
* until Thursday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:30 am Wednesday the stage was 15.9 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Thursday evening.

the Mississippi River at Hannibal
* until Friday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Wednesday the stage was 17.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Thursday evening.

the Illinois River at Valley City
* until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Wednesday the stage was 19.4 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will crest near 20.4 feet by Saturday morning.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Illinois River at Meredosia
* until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 11:15 am Wednesday the stage was 439.2 feet.
* Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 432.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will crest near 440.0 feet by Friday evening.
* Impact... at 440.4 feet... Meredosia Lake Road overtopped.
* Impact... at 440.2 feet... low roads in Florence overtopped.
* Impact... at 440.0 feet... cargill company in Florence begins flood fighting activities.
